Sewing program in NT remote communities

For over three years now we have been the luckiest sisters because we’ve been able to combine a love for creativity and sewing with community engagement programs, working with aboriginal corporations, Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation and Thamarrurr Development Corporation to deliver sewing programs under their community development programs. Want to work with us?

Communities include Wadeye, Emu Point, Palumpa, Wudikapildiyeer, Galiwinku, Millingimbi, Minjilang, Nhulunbuy, Gunbalanya, Gapuwiyak and Yirrkala

The women we’ve worked with have chosen to sew for themselves and for selling within the community and at markets and stalls. They’ve sewn skirts, pillow cases, bags, boxer shorts, dresses, hats, and they do mending for other people in the community.

We’ve work with different Women’s Centres and schools on a weekly, fortnightly, or two weekly basis.
